Visions: Renaissance
HCMC
(Short and Mid Term
Vision)
The densely populated
urban area is suffering serious urban environmental degradation,
in particular alongside the canal areas. In short and mid term
vision, the environmental management and improvement of the inner
city area is urgent issue for the HCMC. At the same time, HCMC
should make effort to promote labour intensive industries to provide
job opportunities for the poor.
(Long term Vision)
In long term
vision, HCMC has to promote high-tech oriented industries, such as
electronics, information and biological technology, to lead the
country’s economy in the 21st century. And the
multiple centres urban structure should be materialised to
accommodate the country’s largest population and economy.
